“Sharing History” Project Editors Convene in Ohrid

Between 29 March-5 April, the editors team of Sharing History, Cultural Dialogues (SHCD) project met in Ohrid (Republic of Macedonia) to share relevant information (including what is promised in the project proposal, research done within the project, and practices from other EUROCLIO programmes) that helps with the editing process. At least five modules from all countries were reviewed and edited, local editors were provided with clear instructions on working to technical standards and final decisions were made on further steps in the editing procedure. Also agreed upon was copyright policy, the terms and conditions of local editing and the parameters of map standards and the source gallery. The 2nd Editing meeting was embedded in the 21st EUROCLIO Annual Conference ‘History Educational beyond Borders. How we can Share our Cultural Heritage’. In parallel to the editing meeting, the Editors found the opportunity to participate in the biggest EUROCLIO international professional development and training course very valuable for their professional development and international experience. In overall, the editing meeting succeeded to achieve the meeting aims, and resulted in the concrete updates in time-plan of the project on the editing stage. The 3rd Editing meeting of SHCD project is planned to take place in the beginning of July in Chisinau.

2nd Steering Committee Meeting With New Inputs for “Sharing History” Project

On 7 December, 5 Members of the Steering Committee of ‘Sharing History, Cultural Dialogues’ project  gathered together in Istanbul and broadly discussed project achievements and challenges since the 1st year of the project, and share their expertise on how to further develop the content, network, and support possibilities.

The meeting brought a lot of valuable recommendations on how to act best to overcome the foreseen challenges in the final year, how to strengthen the wider impact of the project in the project countries during and after the end of the project. Moreover, the Members of the Steering Committee shared their recommendations on the candidates for the external reviewer of the project publication which will be taken upon by the project management team.

Steering Committee Members expressed their content with the fruitful outcomes of the meeting and congratulated the project managed team on professional and successful management of a very challenging and big project so far and expressed their willingness to support the project management team within their relevant expertise and resources.

The location and dates of the final Steering Committee Meeting will be decided in 2014.

1st Regional Seminar of “Sharing History” Project in Lviv

Lviv, Ukraine on 4-7 October 2012

EUROCLIO Coordinators are planning the 1st Regional Seminar of ‘Sharing History, Cultural Dialogues’ Project. This seminar aims at reaching an agreement on the parameters for the common publication based on input from the round-table discussions, trainings and reflections during the seminar, building on experience from key people from previous projects and transfer key elements learned to the Sharing History, Cultural Dialogues themes, discussing  and reflect on innovative methodologies and identify historical themes and topic related to culture that are relevant across the project countries, plan the work of the next semester of the project. The seminar will be attended by 49 participants from 5 project countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine), EUROCLIO Coordinators, as well as International Trainers from Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and Balkans. The programme of the seminar is filled with a number of active workshops, project presentations, ice-breaking activity, On-site Learning activities etc.
