In December, 2013, a new EuroClio project was launched: New Steps for History Education. Supporting the Successful Implementation of the Kosovo Core Curriculum for History. The project is financially supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Pristina, and will be carried out in close cooperation with the History Teachers Association of Kosovo (SHMHK). Its main aim is to develop the professional capacities of history educators in Kosovo and at the same time support the implementation of the new, competency-based Kosovo Core Curriculum for History.

In the spring and summer of 2014, SHMHK will organise three professional training workshops for history educators. These events will take place in different parts of Kosovo and familiarize the participants with the theoretical and methodical background of the new curriculum, as well as train them in using innovative, multi-perspective activities and materials in their classes. A regional capicity-building conference in the later part of the year will then give an opportunity to reflect on the piloting process and exchange good practices among the Kosovar educators and their colleagues from other south-eastern European countries.
