EUROCLIO has invested in many Nationallly based projects, working on various fields and areas of History Education. In the National Projects the efforts have centered on the development of History Education through increased dialogue and training, while offering the National History Teachers Association opportunity to grow in strength, inclusiveness and international network. At the same time the professionalisation of these organisations through the development of teaching materials, websites and magazines has increased significantly. EUROCLIO is proud of the sustainable results in various countries.

Tolerance building through history education in Georgia.

Main aims:

The project has three aims. The first is to enhance the quality of history education in Georgia to keep up with the educational reforms and to further this development. The second is to enhance national and international cooperation, communication and network of history educators in the Southern Caucasus. The third, is to reinforce civic society in Georgia by strengthening the professional History Educators’ Associations through.

  • Provide opportunities for cross-community Cypriot dialogue and partnership;
  • Develop a local team from all groups of Cyprus, across the divide, which takes responsibility to co-operate and create innovative and appropriate teacher support, supplementary materials;
  • Offer professional development and training opportunities in Cyprus and elsewhere- with strong local participation and international expert input, an based on the theme of interculturalism and diversity, respect, tolerance and social justice;
  • Strengthen and support the professionalisation of the local history teachers associations and build opportunities for on-going links and dialogue.
