For the last twenty years Dr. Yosanne Vella has been researching history pedagogy in the local and foreign scene investigating the teaching of history in both primary and secondary levels. She has presented her work at various local and international conferences as well in academic journals abroad. Dr Vella has now felt the need to collect these papers in one book making them easily accessible for local history teacher practitioners, student teachers and researchers involved in history teaching. The book looks into the philosophy behind effective history teaching, learning theories and children’s understanding in history and the theories influencing history teaching outside the classroom. In Search of Meaningful History Teaching-A collection of research work on the teaching of History is another book published by the History Teachers’ Association.
