 The Network of European Museum Organisations is made up of museum organisations within the countries of the European Union (EU) as well as representatives from the countries associated with the EU. It provides information to museums on relevant EU initiatives and other issues of importance; it lobbies European institutions, particularly the EU, on all issues relevant to museums; it promotes the role and importance of museums to European policy makers and it encourages the exchange of information between museums and museum organisations throughout Europe.

 The beautiful State Gallery Linz in Austria will host the Annual Meeting of the Network of European Museum Organizations (NEMO) on November 27th-29th 2009. The meeting will be dedicated to Austria, as the hosting country, and open to museum professionals. “Museums and creativity and innovation” will be the main topic of the meeting exploring the museums’ potential in the creative and innovative area, presenting good practice models and giving insight to the European activities in the field. Various opportunities for joint projects between different culture sectors, such as tourism and museums, shall be discussed also in regard to Linz being the European Capital of Culture in 2009.
