Aspirant Members - Public Union of the Azerbaijan Historians

The Public Union of Azerbaijan Historians in cooperation with Armenian and Georgian partners has published the "Sketches of history of the countries of South Caucasus", a multiperspective sight in Russian, as well as the "Positive examples of coexistence from the history of peoples and states of the South Caucasus" in English and Russian. On January 21th 2010 the Union has presented the material in English and Russian and has generated the Board of guardians defining zone coordinators in 12 regions of Azerbaijan.

 
Flemish HTA applies for a EUROCLIO Membership PDF Print E-mail
Aspirant Members - Belgium: Flemish History Teachers Association

VVLG, the Flemish History Teachers Association (Vlaamse Vereniging voor Leraren Geschiedenis en Cultuurwetenschappen) has applied for a EUROCLIO Membership. Among the aims of VVLG is to support and inform history teachers in Flanders, in history content and history didactics. Main motivation of VVLG to join the wider network of EUROCLIO is to get a view on history education abroad in Europe, to set up interesting information exchange.

 
Four new publications on history education for Turkey and abroad PDF Print E-mail

The project Training Social Studies and History Educators for Multicultural Europe, bringing together history and social studies educators from the Ercides University in Kayseri and the Karadeniz Technical University in Trabzon, both Turkey, the University of West England in Bristol, England and EUROCLIO, has resulted in several publications. This book series consists theoretical as well as practical ,aterials. The academic publication, in English Teaching History and Social Studies for Multicultural Europe and Çok Kültürlü Bir Avrupa İçin Tarih ve Sosyal Bilgiler Eğitimi in Turkish, are edited by Dr Semih Aktekin Dr. Penelope Harnett, Dr Mustafa Öztürk and Dr Dean Smart. They contain a collection of articles comparing the situation in Turkey and England about various related topics. The contributions of EUROCLIO placed the title in a wider European context. The other publications are a training manual in two languages Understanding ourselves and one another.Active Learning for History and Social Studies Lessons, or Çoklu Bakış Açısıyla Sosyal Bilgiler ve Tarih Öğretimi Etkinlik Örnekleri, designed for teacher (in-service) training and offering a variety of active learning modules. On November 21, the English version of the academic book and the Turkish version of the training manual were presented to a wide audience at the Ercides University in Kayseri.

Activities & Aims of the Organisatiion

  • To provide making common investigation in South Caucasus for historical learning of the region by history teachers.
  • The diminishing of tensions among countries and accepting the countries without post historical painless in the region of South Caucasus.
  • To enlarge knowledge of history teachers and their education abilities.
  • Writing of methodical innovations of historical reconnaissance and training.
  • Restoration of memorials of Azerbaijan history.
  • Publication of information bulletin, methodical resources and analytical articles of Azerbaijan history.
  • To prepare teaching and methodic aids of historical map Azerbaijan Republic.

 

 
Moldovan historians motivated to join EUROCLIO PDF Print E-mail
Aspirant Members - Moldova: Association of Historians

To be part of the biggest European network of history teachers, to communicate with European colleagues in order to get familiar with their experience and sharing our own experience related to history teaching in Moldova.

 

Aims of the Organisation

  • Build a forum where the historians could express their own professional interests.
  • Support national and international cooperation through history research and teaching projects.
