Aims/Outcomes:

This project aims to offer, for the organizers, a cultural and educational programme in Turkey for professionals in the Dutch history education and to lay a network for long-term cooperation between the Netherlands and Turkey in the field of history education. For the participants the visit had aims to acquire deep knowledge of the Turkish education system, with a view to the possible differences, similarities and developments, in particular of history education and to acquire new impressions of a large and important country within the framework of the life long learning programme, reflecting on the European dimension in the education.

Connecting Europe through History Education. Addressing civil society through a series of events connecting higher and secondary history education from an European perspective.

Main aims/outcomes:

Stimulating debate, research and informing European citizens on their common history and culture. Bringing together representatives of organisations acting on history education on an European level. These organisation include EUROCLIO itself, the EUROPEAUM network, Council of Europe, UNESCO, the Georg Eckert institute and more. During the project over 900 History Educators have been involved in over 22 seminars in different countries.
