Turkey: Key to Europe

The Fourth Authors’ and Experts’ Workshop of the EUROCLIO/Matra project “A Key to Europe: Innovative Methodology in Turkish School History” will host 60 authors and experts in Kastamonu, Ilgaz Mountain Resort, Turkey between 9-11 July 2010. The event will showcase workshops focusing to inform and further train the authors of the new material in the use of assessment in History education. The project participants will share their ideas about the earlier developed material, allowing the project management to observe and present the next steps. During the event 12 workshops demonstrating new innovative teaching materials will be given. Their themes are very diverse, ranging from issues like the interwar period in Turkey to changing head-dress in Ottoman society. In addition the current activities in EUROCLIO will be presented and high-level experts in assessment techniques Jerome Freeman (UK) and Doç. Dr. Adnan Kan (Gazi University, Turkey) will give lectures and active workshops.
