Tbilisi, GeorgiaBetween the 5th and the 7th of July, Tbilisi and the surrounding areas play host to over 100 history educators convening in Georgia to move history education forward, under the framework of the EUROCLIO/Matra project Tolerance Building Through History Education. International experts from the USA, Russia and Ukraine, as well as international observers from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey will meet with history teachers, professors and teacher-trainers from all over Georgia at two separate events.Select 'Read more' for more information. Held on the 5th of July at Tbilisi State University, the first annual meeting of the Georgian Association of History Educators (GAHE) will take place. Represenatatives from state primary, secondary and private schools  will convene to discuss the policy of the GAHE, develop new statutes and host local training workshops related to the material currently under development within the project. Furthermore, there will be lectures and trainings from Thomas Sherlock (Professor of Political Science at the West Point Military Academy, USA) Yulia Kushnereva (former project coordinator for the EUROCLIO/Matra project Mosaics of Culture) and Iryna Kostyuk (former EUROCLIO project coordinator for the EUROCLIO/Matra project in the Ukraine (New Times, New History).

On the 6th and 7th of July in Bazaleti Lake, Georgia, the project hosts the 6th and final authors’ and experts workshop within the framework of the 3 year project. With further trainings from international experts Thomas Sherlock (Professor of Political Science at the West Point Military Academy, USA) Yulia Kushnereva (former project coordinator for the EUROCLIO/Matra project Mosaics of Culture) and Iryna Kostyuk (former EUROCLIO project coordinator for the EUROCLIO/Matra project in the Ukraine (New Times, New History), as well as a host of developed worksheets presented in active workshops from the developed material, the event promises to be an innovative and important step before the editing process, which will begin in The Hague in August.
