In 2009, EUROCLIO asked teachers and teacher trainers from across Europe to reflect and investigate on the theme of the Conference in Cyprus: “Taking the Perspective of the Others: Intercultural Dialogue and Teaching and Learning History”. Questions were asked about the status of History Education in your country; History teaching and Intercultural Dialogue; Society’s attitude towards cultural diversity; Personal attitude towards cultural diversity and Cyprus in focus

The 2007 EUROCLIO questionnaire had its focus on the theme of the conference Human Rights Education: Lessons from History.
Participants to the Annual Conference and Professional Training Development Course of EUROCLIO and the Slovenian History Teachers’ Association were kindly requested to discuss the questionnaire on a wide as possible scale within their own associations in order to enhance the validity of its results.  The help and collective effort of all those who contributed to the completion of the questionnaire was valuable in gathering important information on human rights and history teaching in each country.
The aim was to raise constructive debate at a European and international level on the important issue of human rights’ awareness and mutual respect.

The 2007 EUROCLIO questionnaire had its focus on the theme of the conference Human Rights Education: Lessons from History.

In 2004 EUROCLIO asked to the Member Associations to inquire certain topics concerning the theme of the Annual Conference. That year the theme of the Conference was The Proportion of the Different Geographical Dimensions in History Education.
In late 2003 the Member Associations and other organisations and individuals working in the educational field were asked to discuss the questions of the questionnaire within an audience as wide as possible. One of the intentions of the EUROCLIO questionnaires was a discussion between the different educational institutions on a national level, as well as a European (international) level.

In the 2002 EUROCLIO Annual Conference every member was asked to fill out a questionnaire concerning the theme of the conference: Rich and Varied Diversity, the learning and teaching of history about the ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities in Europe.  In late 2001 the member organisations were asked to reflect, through a rather elaborate questionnaire, on the learning and teaching of history about the ethnic, religious and linguistic groups in Europe. The members were asked to disseminate and discuss the questionnaire in a wide as possible audience. EUROCLIO Secretariat received 43 filled out questionnaires representing 38 countries.The questionnaire was also sent to other organisations working in the field of education and minority groups.

It was filled out by the History Teachers Associations of 36 countries. The questionnaire provided to Euroclio very interesting information and trends about the different ways in which European countries deal with the key-concepts heritage and national identity in history education.
