The History Teachers Association of Croatia held its electoral meeting on December 5th 2009 in Zagreb, Croatia, at the conference hall of the publishing house Školska knjiga. At the meeting the first edition of collected papers “Album of Ancestors” was presented. The Editorial Board consisted of teachers from various parts of Croatia: Katarina Domljanović, Jelena Šilje-Capor, Suzana Pešorda, Nikola Damjanović, Tvrtko Božić, M. Phil. (chief editor), and Ivona Savić (editor of the history editions of Školska knjiga). The book comprises student papers, examples from practice and professional articles. It creates a perspective for the introduction of teachers and students from different parts of Croatia to relevant topics and stories from other parts of the country.  The meeting also hosted two interesting professional lectures. Timur Križak (Senior Advisor from the Agency for Education), spoke of landmark battles of World War II, and Tvrtko Božić reviewed the work of the organization Ri-Clio and emphasized how Rijeka’s competition "What is what" showed the importance of studying local history. The meeting was closed with the announcement of the continuing participation in international projects, further annual editions of regional collected papers and the involvement in discussions related to the profession.

Miljenko Hajdarovic, editor of the Croatian History Portal and teacher at the Elementary School „Petar Zrinski“ Senkovec in Croatia has been working on the “Holocaust Museum Project” , a project aiming to teach students about Holocaust via engaging them in creating a Holocaust Museum in their classroom. This way students work closely with their teachers and learn about genocide, anti-Semitism and Nazism and they use case studies of people, especially of children of their age relating them to their personal stories. Children become the tour guides for their own museum and can present the public their collection of material related to Holocaust.
