New Project ‘Mediterranean Dialogues’ puts forward cooperation with the Middle East and North Africa

The Open Society Institute has granted EUROCLIO a project ‘Mediterranean Dialogues’ within the Education Support Programme as a first step towards more intensive cooperation with history-, heritage- and citizenship educators in North Africa and the Middle East. The project will enable at least 15 educators from this region to participate in the EUROCLIO conference ‘Looking at History through a Variety of Lenses’ that will take place in Antalya from 1-7 April 2012. The project also enables to organisation of a special event ‘Responsible and Innovative History Education in North Africa and the Middle East’ and the publication of a Special Report to take stock of current research and initiatives and identify ways ahead for cooperation in this region.
